October Favourites

I’m obsessed with dewy foundations, especially as my skin is dry. However, the issue with dewy formulas, is that the longevity of them isn’t the best. I have also noticed that the majority of the foundations that I own are quick to sink into my smile lines. Of course that’s something that can’t be helped, but I really wanted a new base that didn’t instantly expose them. On a whim, I purchased the Fenty Beauty Hydrating Foundation. It was a bit of a risk, seeing as I hadn’t heard any reviews on it. But knowing how well loved her matte foundation is, and ofc, it’s Rihanna’s beauty line – I decided to give it a go. This is the first product that I have owned by Fenty, and I have to say that I have been loving it. The formula is very lightweight, hydrating, and leaves me glowing! It does eventually sink into my smile lines, but it doesn’t look bad at all! Currently, this is my go to foundation, and I really recommend it if your skin is suffering from the change in weather!

There’s nothing like a good series to help a recent graduate get by, whilst job hunting! For years, I have seen many Dance Moms memes floating around on Twitter, but I had never truly understood the craze. I’m not usually one for trash TV, but through boredom, decided to give the programme a shot. Now, I’ve got the Dance Moms bug, and I can’t stop! This series guarantees dance competitions, lots of arguing, and something dramatic happening in almost every episode. I started this series at the beginning of October, and I’m already on the 6th season – sorry, not sorry!

Recently, Mario Kart was brought to our mobile phones, and it’s about bloody time! Don’t get me wrong, the mobile version doesn’t live up to the Nintendo Wii/DS classic, but it’s still pretty good! At first, it took me a little while to learn how to control the car … it’s no Wii remote that’s for sure. But after a few goes, the game quickly becomes addictive. Since I’ve downloaded the game, I have played it every evening… it’s almost becoming a bit of a routine! Oh – they have also brought back the rainbow road racetrack… buzzing!

As a relatively new Android user, I had to find a new podcasting app, so that I could have my daily fix. If I’m being honest, I’m not somebody who spends long enough on their phone to know what apps are the best. Luckily, I found an app called Castbox, which is essentially iTunes, and more! Searching through the different podcasts, I was absolutely thrilled to find Harry Potter Audiobooks, and it’s a bonus that Stephen Fry is the narrator. Honestly, it’s my newest obsession, and my new favourite thing to listen to whilst commuting. You can never have enough of Harry Potter!

Following his successful collab with Shane Dawson, Jeffree Star has been the talk of the beauty community this month! Funnily enough, I was on the hunt for a new lipgloss to wear at my graduation, and saw that Beauty Bay were having a sale on Jeffree Star Cosmetics. I purchased the shade ‘legends only’, and it is honestly the perfect nude for me! It’s extremely hydrating, and non sticky – just what my lips need! I think that this is my new favourite!

I feel like I have been living on Depop this month. Since becoming a recent grad, I’ve really been trying to earn a bit of extra cash, and decided to set up a Depop shop. As a seller, I’m really enjoying it, and kind of get a buzz when somebody purchases an item – sad, I know! I am also trying to cut down on how much fast fashion I buy, so have purchased a few items for myself. Depop has some great bargains, and I highly recommend it if there is a specific item that you want. I even managed to buy a jacket that I wanted last year, for a fraction of the price. Depop haul anyone?

Hello dears, I’m Leanne!

After being diagnosed with Cancer at 18, I have been fascinated with health, and wellbeing. Before Cancer, I abused my body by trying out all of these crazy diets, over exercising, and going out on the lash every weekend.

Now in remission, I want to ensure that I am happy, and most importantly… healthy.

I have a huge passion for cooking, and want to share some super tasty recipes with you all, as well as lifestyle, and travel bits! I also want to raise awareness for Teenage Cancer, and help as many individuals as I can!
